Puerto Juarez Mexico

Puerto Juárez is tucked into the northeast corner of the Yucatán Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. This small town, set on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, is just 1.5 miles north of Cancun. Puerto Juárez has several hotels and a very pretty beach, but it is best known as an access point to the very popular Isla Mujeres.

For travelers catching a morning ferry to Isla Mujeres, Puerto Juárez is a good place to spend the night to avoid early morning travel time in the much busier Cancun. Ferries depart from the Puerto Juárez pier several times a day, and include trips between Puerto Juárez and Cancun, as well as those between Puerto Juárez and Isla Mujeres.

Getting to Puerto Juárez from Cancun is easy - buses and colectivos run between Cancun and Puerto Juárez several times a day, and it’s an easy 10-minute ride. For a more interesting transport, the Cancun to Puerto Juárez ferry runs along the shores of the Caribbean sea and doesn’t take much longer, depending on water conditions and load.
