San Luis Río Colorado is a city and surrounding municipality of approximately 139,000 inhabitants, located at the northwestern tip of Sonora, Mexico. Due to its terrific location along the gentle waters of the Sea of Cortez, neighboring the desert sands of Baja California, and at the borders of California and Arizona, San Luis Rio Colorado has for years been a favored border-crossing and reasonably priced tourist destination, as well as a launching point for travelers headed south into the rest of Mexico.

The city is a natural gateway to numerous tourist attractions for adventure sport enthusiasts, including dune-buggy and dirt bike excursions among the nearby desert sand dunes and water sport activities in the Sea of Cortez, such as jet skiing, water skiing, deep sea fishing, and snorkeling.
